Dear Friends,

This year will be FIA’s 19th Anniversary of India’s Independence Day celebrations. The FIA team of over 300 volunteers is working very hard to make this festival bigger and better. Festival mission is to promote unity in diversity and democracy and build healthy relationship between various Indian and American communities.
The Festival will include the free health fair, mela, booths, cultural programs, dances and songs and the parade. The “Parade” has become a very significant part of the festival. This year we are planning to have over 50 floats that will include representation from different states of India, businesses and Temples.
The free “Health Fair” organized by over 100 physicians and other health professionals is a widely attended and appreciated event as free testing and advice by the Physicians help many seniors and other festival attendees.
The Festival will have over 100 booths depicting art, crafts, literature, garments, jewelry, food, businesses and other resources. We are adding a “Games” area for children. This new addition will provide entertainment for the children and will bring more people to the event.
The FIA Team in the past has brought to you many celebrities from “Bollywood” and this year also bring to you one of the leading star. The Festival will have many invited dignitaries from all walks of life such as politicians, artists, singers, dancers and musicians.
As in past years, thousands of Indo-Americans, Mainstream Americans and other ethnic communities are expected to attend the festival over a two day period.
The FIA Team’s goal is to make the festival of India bigger and better. This will happen with your participation.
I along with the whole team of volunteers invite you to attend this two day event and help us celebrate the India’s Independence Day that has become a day of “Celebration of Democracy” around the world.
